Harriton Boys Lacrosse Trains with Spectrum Strength Training for 2019 Season

By Harriton Lacrosse Boosters

The Boys Lacrosse Boosters partnered with a new off season trainer this year, Spectrum Strength Training, to offer optional fall and winter training to the players.

Will Huff and Rich Bruno have been working with the boys on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and many boys have added in an additional day or two of individual training each week.  (For more information on Will and Rich, visit their website at

The overall goals were to improve team performance through loading parameters - exercise selection, order of exercises, amount of weight lifted, number of reps, number of sets, speed at which reps are performed (to increase explosiveness) and rest time (low rest time improves conditioning).

The program was divided into training phases alternating between accumulation (more reps/less weight) and intensification (more weight/fewer reps).  This approach prevents plateauing and improves strength, increases muscle mass, decreases body fat and improves overall conditioning.

Feedback from the trainers, parents and players has been great, and we look forward to working with Will and Rich in the coming seasons.

Thanks to everyone for their support of this program.  See some of the "results" below!
